Christmas Decorating

Despite the lack of wintry weather, we made hot chocolate, turned on the holiday music, and spent the night decorating for Christmas.

The kids love decorating the tree.

Jessica . . . not so much. Actually, she does too, I just happened to photograph her as she was about trip over the lights chord.

We had a great time. This is our family's favorite season of the year.

Triplets!

The girls got jealous of all the cute dresses I am making for my clients. They asked for cute dresses of their own ~ so I made them dresses and matching purses with their initials appliqued on them.

Sunday Morning

Just to prove to you that I do bathe my children and comb their hair I thought I would post some pictures from this morning. We clean up nice!!

You know, it always kinda dawns on me that we have FOUR kids when I see family pics. I look at them and it is like it hits me!

Happy Fourth!

OK, first of all, I made sure all the children had red/white/blue clothing for 4th of July pictures. Then I forgot to change them and remembered as we were walking back into the house. I am truly debating posting these pics because the kids look totally thrown away. This was the first day in a while that it didn't get up past 100 and they actually got to play outside.

Obviously, they didn't care. They had a great time. Chris went and bought some redneck fireworks and we (ahem, he!) set them off in the back yard. The kids LOVED it. They thought is was the greatest thing ever. We should get out more.

Ava

Sunday night (actually early Monday morning) Ava spiked a high fever and had a febrile seizure. Chris and I rushed her to the ER (so thankful for our wonderful neighbors who came to sit with the other kids). She is doing much better and is smiling, laughing and walking around just fine.
God has been so good to us. One year ago He gave me this beautiful, healthy baby that I didn't even know I wanted. He has blessed me so much with all of my beautiful children... but I will always look at Ava and see His grace. When I found out I was pregnant with her I wasn't exactly happy. I had other plans. God has shown me that His ways are so much better than mine and He knows what He is doing. Thank you Lord for giving sweet Ava to us and for protecting her Sunday night.

Email from Jake's Pre K Teacher:

Rev. Vinson's Golf Skills

I am very impressed to learn that Tiger Woods can hit the golf ball as far as Rev. Vinson!!! My job brings so many smiles especially when I hear how proud the children are of their parents.

This week...

We have had the busiest week. Sunday, during church, while we were praying for her, a dear, sweet member of our church family lost her long battle with cancer. Our kind neighbors babysat the children so I could go to the visitation Monday night, and then another friend babysat the girls Tuesday so I could attend the funeral. It was a beautiful service. Christ was truly glorified and Mrs. Debby was honored. Please keep the Edwards family in your prayers.

The next day, my aunt and uncle happened to be nearby attending a funeral so I decided to pack up the girls and drive to see them. It was worth the effort. We had the best time and Uncle Burt retains his "Most fun uncle" title (I remember how much I loved him when I was a little girl). He is too funny and always has some trick up his sleeve. When I was a little girl he would say, "I see your epidermis," or warn me not to let anyone "unscrew my belly button." He is still up to his old tricks with my girls and they love it as much as I did.

Through all this Chris was preaching a revival at a sister church in the area (no white suit. . .yet) and Eli was neck deep in machine pitch baseball. The other kids and I took him to his game Tuesday night; it was really fun. His team was down 10-3 and they came back in the last inning to win 12-11. He was really excited and cute.

We are having company over tonight so I better get cleaning. Nothing motivates me to clean more than company.
